Another project success in Łukasiewicz – KIT
Dr inż. Jędrzej Piątek, Leader of the Energy Storage Technologies Area of the Centre of Technology Inspired by Nature at the Łukasiewicz – Krakowski Instytut Technologiczny obtained funding under the 3rd edition of INNOGLOBO call, organized by the Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju.
Project titled „ReUse2Life: Digital platforms for rapid evaluation of aged cells and its intended use in second-life applications” will be implemented as a part of Polish-German cooperation with Battronics.
ReUse2Life aims to develop a digital platform for automatically sorting used cells for recycling or second-life applications. It offers many important features that will improve the process of reusing batteries and increase their effectiveness in new applications. The platform will use advanced data processing, cell diagnostics, and predictive analysis capabilities to estimate used cells’ state of health (SOH) and identify the main aging mechanisms. This information is key to determining the suitability of cells for second-life applications and understanding their remaining useful life.
