The meeting of SPS and HPHT sintering enthusiasts was held in Krakow!
The Workshop on SPS and HPHT sintering aimed to foster collaboration between scientists, researchers, and industry experts to explore the potential applications and advancements in these two innovative sintering methods. By bringing together experts in that field, the workshop allowed to facilitate knowledge exchange, promote cutting-edge research, and identify opportunities for joint projects with Łukasiewicz – Krakow Institute of Technology.
The workshop was designed as the event consisting of two parts. In the first “theoretical” part, there were series of presentations, while in the second “practical” part we showed our equipment. There was also space for scientific and technical discussions.
The meeting was opened by Professor dr hab. Katarzyna M. Marzec – Director of Łukasiewicz – Krakowski Instytut Technologiczny, who presented the potential of Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz and our Institute, and Professor Piotr Klimczyk – Leader of the Sintering Techniques Area at Centre of Materials and Manufacturing Technologies, who showed the technological possibilities in his Area.
We kindly thank our two Invited Speakers:
Professor Lucyna Jaworska (AGH University), who shared with participants her knowledge on High-pressure phases in sintered materials based on zirconium and their impact on properties;
Professor Dariusz Garbiec (Łukasiewicz – Poznański Instytut Technologiczny), who gave a speech on Overview of tools for spark plasma sintering.
Thank you all for presenting your research results and joining us at the workshop and giving to all of us the opportunity to delve into the exciting possibilities of SPS and HPHT sintering. We hope for future collaboration and advancement in materials science.
SPS and HPHT sintering apparatus are supported by Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego as a Project SPUB 2023-2025: Apparatus for synthesis and sintering in non-equilibrium conditions at pressures up to 8.5 GPa (No 103/566648/SPUB/SN/2023). Workshop on SPS and HPHT Sintering was financed by the Łukasiewicz – Krakow Institute of Technology as part of the Institute’s own contribution to the SPUB project.
