On 11-13.05.2026, the XVIII International Conference entitled “Innovations in Die Casting” was held in Dąbrowa Górnicza – one of the most important industry events dedicated to modern foundry technologies and the development of the non-ferrous metal sector.
Lukasiewicz – Krakow Institute of Technology participated in the conference as a co-organizer and supporting member of the event. This year’s edition brought together about 70 representatives of the scientific and industrial community, experts and representatives of leading companies in the foundry industry.
The conference program included 16 papers on the latest technological solutions, practical implementations and development directions of die casting.
Representatives of Lukasiewicz – KIT also took an active part in the event. On the first day of the conference, the Director of the Institute, Dr. hab. Eng. Damian Gąsiorek, Prof. PŚ, presented the Institute’s research offer and opportunities for cooperation with industry. On the second day, Justyna Piwowońska, Ph.D., and Joanna Białoń, M.Sc., presented a paper titled. “Opportunities for improving the functional properties of aluminum alloy castings,” on activities related to improving the quality and durability of materials used in modern foundry engineering.
The conference culminated with a study visit to a modern die-casting plant Ficomirrors Polska Sp. z.o.o , during which participants could learn about advanced manufacturing processes and innovative technological solutions used in industrial practice.
We would like to thank the organizers, partners and all participants for inspiring meetings, exchange of experiences and joint discussions on the future of modern foundry engineering. Special thanks go to the Technical Association of Polish Foundrymen STOP for creating a space conducive to the integration of the scientific and industrial community.
