AI at Łukasiewicz – KIT
At Łukasiewicz – KIT we dedicate ourselves to research activities related to artificial intelligence. This area specializes in conducting research on the development and improvement of new and existing tools in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, as well as data classification and analysis for various industrial sectors. Our researchers deal with the development of expert systems, digital twins, predictive models, algorithm creation and adaptation, as well as data analysis and classification.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) is currently one of the fastest-growing technological areas widely used in many aspects of life. Machines are increasingly replacing human hands and are used, among other things, in horticulture, breeding or in the production process. Thanks to artificial intelligence, legal and automatic material classification will also become possible. This application will allow for making decisions regarding the selection of structural materials, and the technology will be able to choose from materials that meet the most important criteria such as strength, plasticity, elongation, or hardness.
Using AI it is also possible to build predictive models that allows among other things as the identification of microstructure components in vermicular cast iron based on the content of alloying elements. In practice, this serves to determine the correctness of the casting execution and the selection of heat treatment parameters to obtain the desired mechanical properties of the product.
