Kick-off meeting in Milan
The kick-off meeting in Milan is behind us! On 6-7 November, the Łukasiewicz – KIT research team participated in the first meeting of the “M-TES: Metallic phase change material composites for Thermal Energy management” project, which is funded under the European Commission Horizon Europe EIC Pathfinder Challenges.
Politecnico di Milano (Italy) leads the i nternational consortium, with Łukasiewicz – KIT, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR-Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry and Technologies, Italy), and Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg (Germany) as other partners.
The Łukasiewicz – KIT team (Rafał Nowak D. Eng , Artur Kudyba D. Eng, Grzegorz Bruzda MSc Eng.), led by Wojciech Polkowski, D.Eng, is the leader of the work package focused on the experimental assessment of the thermophysical properties of the tested materials and analysis of interfacial transformation processes.
The project aims to develop new material solutions for thermal energy storage systems using latent heat of crystallization of metals (Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage-LHTES).
The project will run for 36 months and has a total budget of EUR 2 347 916.
We would like to congratulate our researchers and wish them success in their future activities!
